We can’t resist to make some layette

There is something lovely about knitting baby clothes. Mainly for two reasons… One everything that is tiny is “oh so cute”. Two the yarn used is soft and pleasant to knit. There I wonder why we don’t use it more often for grow up knitwear. We can double up, even triple up and give ourselves a chunky soft knitwear. I used the quality “Ciboulette” from Bergere de France and their explanations from the Beanie & Bootees Set (183) and from the Cross Over Top (184) (available in English, French and other languages).

Mermaid Blanket

First  Time I experiment the “Point de Crocodile” (top rows of the mermaid blanket) . It is easier that it seems and very rewarding. This blanket is 100% natural (50% cotton, 50% wool) done with the quality Rowan Summerspun, crochet 4mm from Love Knitting (quick delivery). There is a high number of Tutorial under you tube for learning how to make the “Point De Crocodile”. I used this one Point De Crocodile (it is in French).

It is simply called the crocodile stitch in English and Bonita Patterns has the most beautiful suggestions to interpret it (Patterns are in English, French and Spanish). The baby booties are next on my list: love them.
